Xavi open to Saudi-based players for Netherlands Hans Kraay Jr. Believes Xavi has no issue with Saudi-based players in the Netherlands national team. The manager's experience in Qatar suggests he views Summerville and Reijnders differently than Koeman did.

What does this mean for Netherlands? Under Ronald Koeman, Saudi-based players like Bergwijn were excluded. But Xavi's background means he may select Summerville and Reijnders, with Bergwijn also in contention.

Why does this matter? Netherlands currently top the World Cup group with 7 points from 3 games (2W-1D-0L). Unbeaten in the last 5 (3W-2D-0L), the team could strengthen with Saudi-based players.

What's next? Netherlands face Germany on September 24. With Xavi as manager, Saudi-based players could feature in future selections.
